The ordinance to initiate the Mueller Parking Transportation Management District (PTMD) was passed February 12, 2015 by the Austin City Council. A copy of the Mueller PTMD application can be found here. This application includes extensive details on what the PTMD entails. The first effort of the PTMD implementation for parking controls included Residential Permit Parking (RPP) for some areas in Mueller.
General PTMD questions can be directed to ResidentialParking@AustinTexas.gov and please place Mueller in the subject line.
The most recent PTMD effort is the City of Austin’s implementation of paid on-street parking in the Aldrich Street town center district. You can find information on all the parking options here.
Parking permits are valid for a calendar year (January - December) and shall be renewed annually before the first day of January. Eligible residents may purchase their yearly parking permits at Austin Transportation Department (ATD)Office located at 1111 Rio Grande St, Austin, TX 78701 between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:30 am and 3:30 pm on Friday. Homeowners can purchase their permits in person at the City office or by mail with copies of an RPP Application, proof of residency (such as a driver's license or utility bill) and photo ID. Residents can purchase up to two permits at $15/permit plus tax ($16.24 for one permit or $32.48 for two). In person purchases can be made via check, credit card, or cash while mailed applications require a check. All checks should be made out to the City of Austin.
Residents may choose between visitor hang tags or vehicle stick tags (decals) or purchase one of each. Tenants must also bring a signed agreement from their landlord authorizing use of the residence’s parking permits. You can check the current eligibility map here.
Guest Passes are also available for purchase at the ATD Office. Single day passes can be purchased for $1/pass plus tax. Residents can purchase up to 20 blank single day passes at a time.
The initial RPP permit hours will be in effect on all the streets in the zone from 4 pm to 10 pm on weekdays (Monday through Friday), and will include Saturday 8 am – 5 pm on Mattie, McBee and Simond. Times may be adjusted in the future for day, nighttime or on weekends in response to changing development and parking needs.
The RPP Zone will be enforced. Please keep in mind that city enforcement officers will also issue citations for violations of State of Texas or City of Austin parking laws and regulations.
RPP Application forms are available at Mueller Central or for download. For more information, please visit the City of Austin's RPP Website or download a copy of the FAQ's. A presentation on the RPP program can be found here.
