Mueller is composed of three distinct districts: Aldrich Street, which offers a variety of local dining, wellness, and entertainment options; Market District, a retail center with small shops and eateries that serve the community, including H-E-B's eco-friendly store; and Regional Retail, which spans approximately 400,000 square feet and features retail shops that line I-35 at 51st St., catering to Mueller, Central, and East Austin. Aldrich Street is the vibrant activity hub in the award-winning master-planned community of Mueller, an activity magnet for thousands of people every day. Its unique mix of shops, cinema, restaurants, cafes, parks and cultural attractions create a new destination—a place to come, relax and enjoy the Austin Experience.
Mueller has a unique collection of public art pieces throughout the community. Many of them are sculptures, such as the solar-panel SunFlowers along I-35, Nessy (the friendly mosaic-clad sea serpent near the Thinkery) and the three metal sculptures found in multiple areas of the Southwest Greenway. Other public art is less noticeable, such as the colorful glass that showcases Mueller’s former runway system in the building that houses Veracruz All Natural and Lick Honest Ice Creams.
Mueller’s community garden in John Gaines Park is a program owned and operated by the Mueller POA with 132 four-foot by eight-foot plots open for rent to both Mueller residents and those living around Mueller. Plot renters use natural and organic gardening methods to produce fruits, vegetables and flowers. The community garden includes potable water, a tool shed and shaded work area. Plot renters are responsible for their plot, as well as the surrounding area, including hand-pulling weeds along the granite pathway.
*The Community Garden Plots are currently full. Please complete the form below to be added to the waitlist. There is also a longer waitlist for the 16 raised beds. You will be notified as plots become available.
