Parks

Mueller’s abundant parks, trails and other open space weave through the community, establishing a natural, local ecosystem and bringing outdoor recreation and education options to Mueller residents, employees and visitors. With 20 percent of the neighborhood dedicated to parkland and open space, every resident lives less than 600 feet away from a community greenspace. Mueller’s greenspaces are developed to connect the many elements of the project as a part of the Mueller vision to create a walkable and sustainable community.

  • Approximately 140 acres of parks, trails and open space
  • 5 miles of new hike and bike paths
  • 5 unique playscapes
  • At least 15,000 new trees throughout the development
  • The Mueller Greenway – a “green necklace” surrounding the neighborhood that connects to existing Austin parks including Bartholomew Park, Patterson Park and the public Morris Williams Golf Course

Park Rules in mueller

Please contact us if you have questions about these rules.

In many cases, Mueller’s privately maintained but publicly accessible parks follow the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department rules, which are accessible here.

In summary:

  • Reservations and permission must be provided for any groups over 25 people. Click here to learn more about the reservation process.
  • Park users may not use a court or field designated for another sport, e.g., the volleyball courts in Branch Park can’t be used for soccer.
  • No smoking is allowed in Mueller’s parks.
  • On hike and bike trails, cyclists yield to joggers and walkers; joggers yield to walkers.
  • Motor vehicles are not allowed on hike-and-bike trails or sidewalks, except for motorized wheelchairs.
  • Park users should not use offensive language or make unreasonable noises, discharge weapons or fireworks or engage in gestures or conduct in a park that would be offensive to a person of ordinary sensibility.
  • Park users may not carry or possess a weapon or firearm while in the park, except under state and federal law.
  • Users may not abandon vehicles or other personal property in the park.
  • Park users may not sell, rent or offer free goods or services, or place a stand, cart or vehicle in a park for commercial use, unless permitted by the POA or the master developer to do so.
  • Park users must keep animals under confinement or direct control (e.g., on a leash) except in the Branch Park dog run. A leash is still required to walk dogs to and from the dog run.
  • Park users shall remove waste left by an animal under the user’s care and shall properly dispose of the waste in an appropriate waste receptacle.
  • Park users are not allowed to have pets in the pools and/or the Branch Park interactive waterscape.

  • Park users may temporarily affix a hammock, but only to trees that are more than one foot in diameter and not a Heritage tree as defined by the City of Austin; and the user must place some form of fabric between the tree and the hammock tie to protect the bark.
  • Remote control models are allowed in open areas of the park so long as they do not disrupt the enjoyment of the park by other users; remote control models are not allowed on trails, sidewalks, sports fields or courts, playscapes or water features.
  • All wildlife is protected: park users may not harm, harass, hunt or remove an animal, including mammals, fish, insects, birds or reptiles. Park users may fish but must release the fish back into the pond immediately after caught.
